Ratings - Shelfability
I got the idea of shelfability from the fist book blogger I ever stumbled upon. After spending a lot of time mulling over what ratings to give books if not for the blog but for Goodreads. I may love a book today only to hate it tomorrow and adore it the day after. So the idea of shelfability is awesome. I get to rate books not by a number but by words; ant to be honest I am more of an English oriented person than a Math oriented one.
So I have combined the idea of ratings and Shelfability to make things a little clearer for anyone who reads this and a little easier for me.

1 Star/ Burn : this rating is reserved for book that I disliked with a passion. If I bought this book I wept for the waste of money. I cursed myself for the time I wasted reading this. I call this the burn category because I almost want to burn this book; and while I would never burn a book, I have burned this book in my mind. I have obliterated this book from my thoughts it's toast...and I hate toast. I don't recommend these books to anyone and if asked about it I make a face like I'm sucking lemons.

2 Stars/ Borrow : this rating is called Borrow because while it is worth a read, it's not worth the money that you would need to spend on it. Books with this rating are books that I don't really regret reading I never really intend to read it again. I may forget it it may be one of those books that I see in a store and think to myself; " I read this, didn't I".

3 Stars/ Buy ; this rating is for books that I want on my shelves. For the most part I look for the discounted price. I want the book; however I don't need the book. I will probably reread it a few times and think about it fondly; but, I may give it away in a few years. Although I don't regret reading it and I don't regret the time it spent on it on my shelves. I have a mild affection for this book and if asked I may or may not suggest it to someone depending on their reading preferences.

4 Stars/ Crave and Covet : this rating belongs to books I NEED on my shelves. To be precise these books are worth it; worth the money you spend on the hardcover and worth the time you spend readings and rereading it. I smile when I see this book being bought in a store I want to share this book with other people; although, I hesitate letting them borrow MY copy. I can be doing something random and suddenly feel the need to reread it. I stop people in bookstores telling them that they should read it. This rating on a book means I am saying that you should without a doubt read this this book. Unless you see the books I read and rate and and think that you hate them; Then we probably have different tastes and I wonder why you're reading this at all.

5 Stars/ Cherish and Glorify : this is the highest rating and title I can give to any book. This book is not a simple need it is a necessity. If I had a trophy case I would put this book in it to display it to the world.  I almost need a second copy because I can't bear to do any harm to the first and yet I need to read and reread it repeatedly. I cry when I see how the binding looks and wish I had x-ray vision so that I could read it without opening it. "You haven't read it!? You have to read it! Read it now!" There is one other thing that comes to mind when I think of this category and that is... MY PRECIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
